I’m excited to announce that I’ve finally decided on a charity to support. This wasn’t an easy task. I wanted to find something close to my heart; something where I could personally make a difference. After being presented with over a hundred options and much deliberation, I’ve decided to support Parks Youth Ranch.
Concern: “Imagine you are in middle school. You go to school like any other day but when you get off the school bus and walk home you find your house locked, all your family belongings gone and a quickly written note from your mother taped to the door saying she has left with her boyfriend and is not coming back. You are 14, abandoned and homeless.”
Facts about Youth Homelessness:
I thank God for places such as this. I have to be honest with you, this could have easily been me. My mother gave me up for adoption as a small child. I wasn’t adopted until I was 6 years old. It’s less likely for a child to be adopted past the age of 3. Most parents want a baby. If Bruce and Deborah (my adopted parents…”REAL” parents) hadn’t taken me in and given me life…I could have been homeless too.
God has blessed my life beyond belief. I’ve been given an amazing opportunity to gain such a wide audience. With this gift, I want to give back in honor of Him, Christ. That’s why I’ve decided to donate a portion of the proceeds from my calendar sales to Parks Youth Ranch. Help me reach a goal of $2,000. It’s a high goal, but I know it’s reachable. However, I can’t do it on my own…I need your help. It’s not about me; it’s about helping children in need. Together, we can make a difference.
